
The SKyTeach Steering Committee has been established to allow for interdisciplinary contributions toward building and directing the new math/science teacher training program. It consists of one representative from the following areas: Biology, Chemistry, Curriculum and Instruction, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics; the Master Teachers; and the Education and Science Co-Directors.

This group will have responsibilities for directing the growth of the program, responding to challenges, and ensuring that this is a true collaborative effort.
Each member is responsible for maintaining good relations between SKyTeach and her/his respective department/college. This includes sharing information, communicating needs and concerns with colleagues from her/his home department.
Each member of the Steering Committee will be expected to actively promote SKyTeach within her/his sphere of influence. This includes supporting and encouraging students in the program, getting faculty/staff colleagues to encourage students to try the SKyTeach program and support students in the program; and to pro-actively seeking support from the community.
Steering Committee member are expected to contribute to the many departmental-like needs of the SKyTeach program. The initial subcommittees are:
